Lake Champlain Bass Fishing Report July 26th 2015:
Hello Folks! Today's Lake Champlain bass fishing report is my first practice day for this weeks Rayovac FLW Series tournament. I have not been on the lake since last years event and Lake Champlain did not disappoint. My 1st Lake Champlain practice has gotten off to a GREAT start with my five best fish weighing 17 lbs w/ a 5.6 lb kicker!
A much needed confidence boost on a lake that I have yet to master. Back in 2013 I finished in 119th place, then 97th place in 2014. This year I wanted to come into the practice period with the overall goal of catching fish bigger than 3 lbs on the average or higher than 15 pounds a day. I have done a fair amount of research and map studying since my last visit to lake Champlain. My fingers are crossed, hoping that new waters and new knowledge will keep producing heavier weights through the end of the tournament.
Personal Lake Champlain Averages During Rayovac FLW Series Tournaments:
My average size fish in 2014 was 23.05 / 10 fish = 2.31 lb avg.
My average size fish in 2013 was12.06 / 05 fish = 2.41 lb avg.
Currently I'm in 60th place in the 2015 A.O.Y. points standings and need to fish my way up the ladder in this tournament. Below are a few numbers that I will be targeting for this event. Top 40 anglers in A.O.Y. points go to the championship at the end of the year.
2014 Lake Champlain Winning Averages: (Rayovac FLW Series)
Top 10 = $3,866.00 = 47.03 / 15 fish = 3.14 lb avg
Top 38 = $1,933.00 = 30.01 / 10 fish = 3.00 lb avg
2013 Lake Champlain Winnings Averages: (Rayovac FLW Series)
Top 10 = $2,619.00 = 39.05 / 15 fish = 2.60 lb avg
Top 25 = $1,309.00 = 29.04 / 10 fish = 2.90 lb avg
Thank you for reading my bass fishing blog, stay tuned for my next Lake Champlain bass fishing report.
