Smitson Riding O'l Mo Into FLW BFL Potomac River Super tournament!

The fruits of Melvin Smitson hard work out on the bass fishing tournament trail have come clearly into focus this week. Smitson is riding a HUGE wave of momentum lately...

In the past few days alone, Melvin has learned that he qualified for the Delaware Bass Federation Classic, he finished 21st place in the FLW Everstart tournament on the Chesapeake Bay, he finished in 30th place overall in the FLW Everstart Northern Division, he finished 3rd best angler from Maryland in the FLW Everstart Series in 2013 and he picked up 2 new sponsors in as many days!!!

So what do you do to top that kind of week off near the end of the fishing season if your Melvin Smitson?

"I'm not going bow hunting that for sure! Right now I'm dialed in on the the FLW BFL Super Tournament being held on the Potomac River 09/21/13 - 09/22/13. I'm in 28th place as it sits right now in the Shenandoah division for the year and I would like to do well here on my favorite river ( Potomac River ) so I can get back onto the Chesapeake Bay in the FLW BFL regional's. The Chesapeake Bay seems to be fishing a little better than the Potomac lately, so we will see what happens." ~ Said Melvin.

If Melvin does well here on the Potomac this week September 21st - September 22nd he has a real shot at improving on his 28th place position and making the regional's on the Chesapeake Bay. From there he has a chance to qualify for the 2014 "All American." Which leads to a shot at qualifying for a chance to fish in the Forrest Wood Cup 2014.

"This is not football but this is my playoffs, I need to stay sharp and execute my game plan each time out on the water this week. All fumbles are costly but this is the time of year that your bites start slowing down and get harder to feel. On this river, there are definitely some 20 pound bags of fish to be had this time of year. I just need to fish clean and stay focused." ~ Said Melvin.

Stay tuned bass fishing fans...
