Today's Nanticoke River Bass Fishing Report is from a Delaware Bass Federation Nation open buddy tournament that I fished on May 10th, 2014.

Once the tournament got started, we ran straight to Peggies Hole in Marshyhope Creek, Maryland. To our dismay, a boat was already fishing in Peggies Hole. The had put in a Federalsburg boat ramp and made there way down. O' Well, all was not lost. My Dad did manage to catch several bass in the 14'' range on a Texas rigged Gambler Ace (Lane Toad Color). I was using a wacky soft plastic stick bait and a topwater popper. The only keeper (15'' +) from Peggies Hole came on the Popper. The tide was going out in a hurry! Almost to the point that we got stuck in Peggies Hole, so we fired up the Mercury 250 HP Outboard motor and blasted out through the mud.

We fished our way back down out of Marshyhope Creek and hung a right onto the Nanticoke River toward the RT. 50 bridge in Vienna, Maryland. There we got a few small fish on soft plastics but nothing that was of legal size. Now that the tide was coming in strong we headed our way back up the Nanticoke River to Sharpstown, Maryland. We landed a few small fish in Sharpstown and decided to make our way further up the Nanticoke River to Seaford, Delaware.

"After arriving in Seaford, we started out fishing in the marina and reeled in a few small bass. We made our way back onto the main river in Seaford to fish the rip rap, tee-pee pilings and docks. Again, nothing but small fish." nanticoke-river-bass-fishing-report-may-10th-2014-grain-smitson.png

With weigh-in time approaching we made our way back down the Nanticoke River to Broad CreekToday's total catch was around 30 bass and only 1 bass measured!
