I fished the Pocomoke river today in a Delaware Bass Federation Nation buddy tournament with my Dad. We managed 4th place with 10 lbs .26 oz falling just short of cashing a paycheck!

The fishing action was surprisingly good considering the 4'' - 6'' of rain that swept through the area less than 24 hours prior to blast off. Friends and family were reporting how all the fields on the eastern shore looked like large lakes filled with lilly pads. News outlets were also reporting folk's kayaking in the streets in certain parts.
My dad insisted that we take a round about, slightly out of the route to the ramp at Snow Hill to avoid possible flooding hazards along the way. He took me on a course that he had discovered way back in the late 1960's early 1970's.
I was against the idea at first but I'm glad I went along with it. It was nice to hear him reminiscing about the many Pocomoke River bass fishing trips he had taken back in the day with the group of anglers from his time of youthful exuberance and fishing prowess.
As it turns out he is still a GREAT net man. We landed 7 legal sized bass on the day and another 10 bass that did not measure 12 inches. Bladed swimjigs and soft plastic stick baits worked the best today. I had a few blow ups on topwater frogs like the Megabass pony frog.
It did rain heavy at times but we managed a good day on the Pocomoke River. 17 largemouth bass, 2 pickeral, 5 white perch, 1 bluegill and 1 striped bass that weighed in around 8 pounds!
I was happy that I was able to film at least part of the day with my new GoPro camera. Definitely a rookie when it comes to filming. The camera cut off and I did not even know it until I got home and reviewed the tape.
This ends my Pocomoke River Bass Fishing report. Hope to see you on the Pocomoke River before summer is over...
