Potomac River Bass Fishing Report June 08, 2013
Back out on the Potomac River today after a night full of heavy rain 3 - 5 inches in some parts of Maryland. All from tropical storm Andrea. My game plan going in was to find the clearest water that I could find close by the ramp just in case the weather forecasters miss their prediction of the storm behind out of our area around lunch time.
Today Delaware Bass Federation Nation Open Team Buddy Tournament had a 5:30 blast off and our strategy worked out well. Me and my dad had our limit of largemouth bass by 6:30 - 7:00!!!
No big bass but 5 decent ones and it turns out that was the easy part. The rest of this rain filled overcast event was spent trying to upgrade our catch. It did not matter what lures we used bladed swim jigs, crankbaits, soft plastic stick bait (
Gambler Ace ), Buckeye jigs, crawdads (
Gambler Flappy Daddy ), drop shot rigs, ect.., ect...
Ounces, besides being water logged, that's all of the rest of our 35 - 45 bass and the day would yield. I had a total weight of 11 lbs 09 oz and finished 11 th place on the day. On a side note I noticed that my feet were the first things to start drying after the rain stopped. I credit my super comfy
Zeko Shoes for that.
I would like to thank
