Potomac River Rayovac FLW Series Preview Report 2014

 

Hello bass fishing fans! The start of the Rayovac FLW Series season is finally here!!! Destination number one for the 2014 season is on the Potomac River, Maryland. Bass fishing is starting to heat up on the Potomac River after a slow start lasting the entire spring season. Summer like weather ( Mid 90's ) should have winning tournament bags and personal 5 bass limits starting to creep up towards the 20 pound mark once again.

 

The bass are hungry coming off their prolonged spawning season. Some bass have started to move out deep while other bass remain in the shallows feeding on panfish and the like. Frogs, Spinnerbaits, Swim Jigs, Rat-L-Traps, Shallow Crankbaits and Craw Imitations should be popular choices this week as Rayovac FLW Series anglers key in on their favorite Potomac River fishing locations. Docks, Rock Piles, Grass Beds and Ledges should all be favorable Potomac river hot spots through out this Rayovac FLW Series tournament.

 

We caught up with local pro Melvin Smitson From Baltimore, Maryland and this is what he had to say about this weeks Rayovac FLW Series Potomac River tournament...

 

"After finishing this Rayovac FLW Series Potomac River tournament in 97th place in 2013 my goals for this year to be more efficient out there on the water. I finished my rookie campaign for all 4 events in 30th place for AOY points. So if I can improve my finishing position here on my home river to start off the 2014 season it would go along way towards securing my place in the Rayovac FLW Series championship at the end of the year. The best thing I can do this week is to really, just trust in my spots, believe in my baits and have confidence in my abilities to out fish every angler that enters this event!"
