Smitson Eyes Top 10 To Secure Entry On 2014 FLW Tour

 

As the FLW Everstart Northern Series heads towards it's third stop Lake Champlain, NY this week.  Professional angler Melvin Smitson has his eyes set on the big picture. Securing priority entry onto the 2014 FLW Tour.

 

 

Sounding confident and fairly convincing Melvin added this statement. "I feel good about my current position ( 53rd overall ) and feel that all my years of bass fishing experience will help guide me into the top 40 with Lake Champlain and the Upper Chesapeake Bay left on the schedule."

 

However, Melvin's goal is not to fish on the Everstart level for to long but to jump up onto the FLW Tour as soon as possible. Later on he added...

 

"If I can manage a few limits of bass at Lake Champlain. I really love the idea of coming back to my home waters of the Upper Chesapeake Bay and making a strong run at the top 10 points leaders."

 

Melvin and his Dad produced a solid 19 lb limit of largemouth bass during a local bass fishing tournament on the Upper Chesapeake Bay as recently as 07/14/13. Landing in the top 10 of the FLW Everstart Northern Series would secure Melvin priority entry onto the 2014 FLW Tour.
