Smitson Swoops Into 23 rd Place Overall In FLW Shenandoah Division
Catching a decent bag of largemouth bass on the Potomac River after a few days and nights filled with heavy rains is quickly becoming Smitson's specialty! Granted their not all 7lb, 8lb and 9lb Potomac River lunkers but his most recent approach is paying off big time.
"Find clear water, catch a limit of bass and spend the rest of your day upgrading the size of bass that you caught first thing in the morning."
Pulling off this maneuver is much easier said than done but a strategy Smitson is embracing heading into this weeks Everstart tournament on the Potomac River.
"I finished in 35 th place today 11 lbs 04 oz with a 5 bass limit. I landed between 15 - 20 bass on the day but I could only upgrade by ounces at a time. I had a larger bass on that would have moved me up a pound or two and missed a few smaller bites threw out the day. The main river was wind blown today so there were a few hot spots that I did not get to fish."
"I'm very excited to move up 10 spots in the point standings and to be sitting in 23 rd place overall with only two bass fishing tournaments left in the FLW Shenandoah division. Some of the previous overall points leaders took a BIG tumble today so that gives me extra drive and energy to go out and take this division outright."
Look out Shenandoah division leaders here comes Smitson!!!
